Option to group items using PBI service
Hi community,
I am trying to use PBI service instead of desktop for sharing capabilities etc. I am trying to do the simple task of grouping items - done with ease in Desktop - in Service. I am not getting the option in the right-click drop down and when I try to group them directly from the visualisation, the option is inactive.
I saw someone posted about the same thing in 2019 New Group option missing in measures? , however she noted that it was a feature someone in her team had deactivated. Does anyone know more about this or how to activate this critically important feature?

Hi. The grouping feature is only available at Power Bi Desktop for columns of a table: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-grouping-and-binning
You can't use them at Power Bi Service. The cloud portal doesn't have all the development strengh that Desktop has.
Regarding the post you have read, I don't think there is a way of removing that feature. I have read all the tenant settings and you can't turn that off for all users. I'm not aware of a place to prevent a Desktop feature that is not a preview one.
