On-premises data gateway azure

You can certainly install it on a VM in Azure.
All that needs to happen is the Gateway needs to be installed on a Windows Operating System.Here are some articles may help you:

Another thing is to keep the on-premise data gateway to run as the latest version.
Thank you TomMartens for your reply. My all data sources are in Virtual machines. I was planning to buy a new server(VM) which will be on Azure and from there I was planning to install a gateway and pull data from my sources. Is that a good idea?
