On premise gateway

Richard76_0-1636631289112.png

Hi ,

I am getting the above error message on Power BI service for a live data report .

Desktop version works ok so assume it is an issue with the gateway but it does not seem to have any errors.

Anybody encountered similar issues - working fine until this morning .

Many thanks

Richard

Hi  @Richard76 ,

1. Whether your gateway is the latest version, if not, you can update it.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-update

2. Is the gateway server condition bad, has the memory reached the limit, Competition for resources? With MS only allowing refreshes to be every 30 min, there is a rush for resources from other reports.

3. You can extend the timeout period by following the steps in the link below.

Set a max run time / timeout for Power Query

Setting Timeout Value in Powerquery

Hi @Richard76

The error is indicating that your source system timed out and stopped sending data.

I would suggest contacting the data source owner and checking how long the timeout is set to, as it is currently too short. Or also check to see if the data is being imported as quickly as possible and might need a query optimization.
