Hi,
Since the beginning of this week I am having a problem with the On-Premise Gateways picking up the datasource linked in a Dataset. When looking at the Dataset refresh schedule setup page, under the Gateway's section, none of the Gateways are available for selection:
In "Manage Gateways", the Gataeways are connected succssfully and the relevant data sources are confugured and connected to successfully:
I did a test where I setup a Personal Gateway on one of the Data sources, to see if that worked, and I was able to get it to work with that... but not with the Business Gateway. This is a problem as I have multiple gateways, all of which are experiencing this issue.
Like I said, everything was workign fine last week, and suddenly this week it is not, and nothing has changed on my side.
Hope this gets reslved asap.

Hi.... I found the problem! In the datasets, there was also a connection to an OData source where the DNS name had changed and not updated in the Dataset, and as such the name could not be resolved. This was stopping the association to the Gateway Datasource for some or other reason. When I sorted out the OData name issue, then the Gateway Datasource was selectable again....

Hi @Anonymous,
Thanks for your update. As the issue is gone now, I will close this thread.

Hi there.... I have already downloaded the new Gateway Version after I discovered that the Gateway was not working properly, but got the same result. I looked at the Gateway logs on the On Premise computer, and there were no errors logged there.
Just to clarify what I have said above.... when looking at the Gateway connection in the "Manage Gateways" section of the PBI Service, there is a successfull connection for ALL of my gateways (even the ones that I have not yet updated to the latest version). Datasources matching those in the relevant Datasets are configured and they all connect successfully.
The problem is trying to connect the Datasets to the Datasources in the Gateway connections - I am unable to do this because tey do not get associated successfully to the datasets (see images in my post above). There appears to be no problem with the On-Premise Gateway to Serviice connection....
JUst some additional information that may help. I am connection to two types of Data Sources using the Gateways - one is a network folder, and the other is an ODBC (Firebird) database. Each of these Datasource types are on separate computers running their own Gateways. I would like to re-iterate that this was working fine last week for a few months now... and suddenly went "off" this week.
I trust that this clarifies?
Hi @Anonymous,
Would you please update the on-premises data gateway to the latest version?
Please find on-premises data gateway log files, and check if any error or exception logged.
