On prem Gateway issue - saying needs update but on latest version?

Good morning i've noticed that our gateway status is showing that there is a newer version available but we're already on the latest version (November) 3000.246.5 ?  I reinstalled the gateway yesterday but it hasn't resolved the issue. Is anyone else having this same issue? I haven't come across this before.

 

We're also experiencing multiple report refresh failures each morning with error messages like "DM_GWPipeline_Client_AsyncOperationExpired" & "DM_GWPipeline_Client_GatewayUnreachable" & "DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_SpooledOperationMissing" 

 

Appreciate any help thanks!

Hi apologies for the delay we updated the gateway yesterday to the latest version 3000.254.4 (Jan25) and this seems to have fixed the issue. I think there must have been something wrong with the previous install. Will try the cache suggestion if it happens again though thank you!

Hi @katdav,

Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Community Forum.

Please follow the below steps  To acheive the error:

1. The Power BI Service might be displaying an outdated update message due to a glitch or cached version, please clear the gateway cache.

2. Might be delays in syncing the latest gateway version and If you're using a gateway cluster, make sure all nodes are properly updated to avoid synchronization issues.

Hi Idris thanks for your comments. Do you know why we would be seeing the message saying there is a newer version available? The reports are fine in desktop & all refreshed ok in the service when we tried manual refreshes.

Hello @katdav ,

 

it's definately not a version issue, to check where the issue is coming from is first to check the report on desktop if it's refreshing normally and each table is refreshing without an error.

 

if everything is refreshing on deskop then the gateway connection from service needs to be checked.
