On Prem Gateway and Migration question
Got a couple of questions regarding gateways.
I need to migrate Published reports from their existing PBI service portal to a new one. Is it possible for the reports that use an On Premise gateway to access data to still connect if I publish them to another portal?
To put it another way, can an On Prem gateway be configured to allow access from other tenants and reports on other service portals?
I found the following thread but it didn't provide much information: Solved: Accessing on-prem sql server in other tenant - Microsoft Power BI Community
Hey Anonymous ,
the gateway has to be redone.
Next to that it's also important to know that you have to re-create the data source connections on the new tenant.

Hey Anonymous ,
this is not possible.
A gateway ir registered to a specific tenant. During installation of the gateway it is a required to login to the Power BI Service. This login then registers the gateway to the Power BI Service.
You need a 2nd gateway machine and a 2nd login, this will allow you to register the gateway to the 2nd tenant.
Hopefully, this helps to tackle your challenge.

Is it possible to log out of the gateway credentials used during installation and then provide a new log in with a different account to effectively re-register it for lack of a better term?
The gateway is an Azure resource installed on a VM. It will be migrated to a new tenant so I will eventually have to configure it to allow that tenants Power bi reports to access it. I'm just not entirely familiar if the install has to be completely redone or if an existing gateway install can be configured to allow reports on another tenant to access it. let me know.
