    Hi ambarishkunte 


    The most important thing is to make sure you have got the Recovery Key known before an upgrade. If anything goes wrong you could re-install and use the recovery key to keep all existing data sources.

     

    Also good idea to keep the backup of the configuration files.

     

    Other than that I have not had any issues doing this monthly now for a few years.

    As GilbertQ said, the recovery key can be the best possible rollback credential you should keep, it is set when the on-premises data gateway is installed, you can use this credential to migrate, restore, or take over an on-premises data gateway.
