Office 365 credentials refused when setting up data refresh in Power BI
I have a weird problem that started today: I can't seem to make credentials stick when I setup new datasets for automatic refresh.
My models are usually connected to Excel, CSV or Text files on OneDrive for Business, and they've all been updating fine. I use Web.Contents() to get acces to data in the files, and I have been using this tecnique to build several reports that get data from these sources and refresh automatically with Scheduled Refresh.
Since today, new datasets accept credentials at first (OAuth2) but they immedietaly show a warning saying credentials are invalid.
If I hit details the error message clearly states my credentials are invalid where they are clearly not.
These are the error that I see every time I try to refresh the new dataset:
I erased all browsing data from Edge, deleted all Permissions in Power BI and tried with a couple of fresh .pbix: no luck.
I don't know if this is a temporary issue but it affects only new datasets (old one are updating fine) and I really don't know what to do.

I just tried to get data from OneDrive Business using Web.Conetents() and I can schedule refresh with OAuth2 properly.
Have you tried to click “Edit credentials” and input your OneDrive credentials again? Does the refresh works well in PBI Desktop?
BTW, I noticed that there is a notice in the Power BI Support site. It is related to refresh failures with gateway connecting to on prem data sources. Not sure if it also has effect on refresh without gateways. You can try it later to see if your issue persists.
Some Power BI customers in North Europe are experiencing data refresh failures with gateway connecting to on prem data sources. Engineers have identified the root cause of the issue and are working on a fix. Next update 11/23/2016 @ 18:00 PST.Best Regards,

my scenario is different from the one you have reported about.
Unfortunately I think this problem is related to some degradation of my account, I am looking into it with Microsoft in order to fix several problems.
This is not an On premise scenario, i connect to Excel file stored on OneDrive for Businees, so it's completely cloud. Also, all the datasets created and setup for refresh before the incident still work and update flawlessly.
I still don't know what happened and I hope to fix the issue soon.

I believe I have the same problem you describe. I have published a number of reports from Power BI Desktop using excel files stored on OneDrive for Business. I was able to schedule a refresh of these datasets using my OneDrive credentials.
This worked flawlessly until approxamitely a week ago. Now when I upload a report/dataset I cannot get it refresh, it seems like my credentials are not being updated.
Previous datasets are still updating though.
Please let me know how you get on with Microsoft...

Still not working for me yet. Needs resolved asap for customer deployed solutions now broken. I have the same issues, only my error changes after I reset all the credentials. The error becomes
"Processing error: The data source kind doesn't support the credential type. Data source kind: SQL. Credential type: OAuth2."
I believe it's trying to use the same creds for all datasources. (I have Azure SQL via Access App on SharePoint, Excel on OneDrive, and regular Azure SQL sources in these files. ) Re-uploading the desktop file to the BI service didn't help either.

Based on my testing, the refresh for data source from OneDrive Business is working now. But the refresh for data source from Sharepoint still has some problems.

Having this same issue. Trying to refresh data source on Sharepoint. Requiring me to enter my credentials. When it do wth oAuth2, it runs and runs but never authenticates.
