OKTA Integration to PowerBI with RLS Security

Hi All,

We are using PowerBI Pro for our Reporting needs, the reports developed are enabled with PowerBI RLS Security- everything works fine until this time; however our Enterprise have OKTA as authentication tool, Can I use OKTA Level Access group to be set for Data Level RLS security group.

Basically, we are trying to avoid adding the user every time in the RLS security group in case a new user adds in the active directory/organization or someone leaves.

Thank you AJ.. I have used the Email Group to enable the RLS. After having a call with OKTA just to check if they had any use case like this. They have confirmed OKTA provides only SSO for PowerBI/Tabluea and other BI tools, and not assist with the Access layers.

Can we integrate Okta with PowerBI to enable SSO ? When I sign in to my application(Okta authenticated), I should also be able to view the integrated PowerBI reports. Can anyone please help me on how this can be done?

Hi,

I don't think it could work. It's like using 2 different security layers from 2 different brand/companies. For that to work it will need an API integration between the 2 layers.

So the "solution" is that it can't be done, correct?
