Not able to include in app
Hello everybody!
I am using the data set connection to connect to the Report Usage Metric.
Now I have to build an individual report based on this data set that I would like to include to the app.
For this purpose, I have published this report to the app.
Unfortunately I am not able to toggle the button to "Yes" to include this report into the app.
Why is this happening?
Is this because I have upgraded the workspace?
Hi joshua1990 ,
- If you want to use audit logs, you must be the global admin or a power bi service admin
Usage metrics reports won't show up in Recent, Workspaces, Favorites, or other content lists. They cannot be added to an app. If you pin a tile from a usage metrics report to a dashboard, that dashboard cannot be added to an app or content pack.
To dig down into the report data, or to build your own reports against the dataset, use Save as (see Save the Usage Metrics report as a full-featured Power BI report.

What you are trying to do would create a circular reference.
What you can do instead is to connect to the Usage metrics dataset from a different workspace, and then do your publishing there.
Note that usage metric datasets will go poof! when the underlying report is not being looked at for three months.
if you want a stable long term solution you are better off using your tenant's audit logs.

since I am not an admin I guess the tenant audit log option is not able for me, right?
