New backgrounds and inserted images not working on app

Yesterday afternoon I updated an app and all new images and brackgrounds do not appear on the app. They do show on desktop and also on the report in the workspace but not in the app. Old backgrounds and images display corectly though.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any solutions?

Thanks,

Please try following:

  • Uninclude the report in the App
  • Update App
  • Include the report
  • Update App

It helped in my case.

Really is an issue when the desktop and the Power BI Service work without a hitch and then publishing to the APP or use of the mobile power BI app magically cause the embedded 64 image to disappear.  Really hard as an IT person to back up Microsoft when our users are loosing faith in the application consistency.

How do I update the app?

In my case, either updating app or republishing the app don't solve the problem of not showing images in the app.

Does anybody can suggest a solution please?

You have to change the content of the app and update to make it work. Did you do that or just updated?

Actually what i did earlier was just update the app once i changed the images of the report ,

as you told me i tried to update the content but my point is what should i change in the content,

as per the below image i have no option to change the content

Capture.PNG

When you click the "Update app" button, you get three tabs: Details, Content and Access.

Capture.PNGIn the "Content" tab, change the current report (the one you are trying to update) by another report (any other report, it doesnt matter which one) and then update. Once this has been done, update again, but this time choose the report you want to include in the app (the one that didnt display the new images / backgrounds in the first place) and update.

That should have your app working again.

Does anyone know if there is a fix in the works?  This workaround was successful for me too, but would hate to keep having to do this forever!

I was just about to post the exact same thing haha! That works a treat
