Hi,
@v-janeyg-msft I am reaching out in relation to an issue that we are currently facing with the Composite Model.
I came across this post https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Composite-Model-with-two-Power-BI-datasets-not-viewable-by/....
Composite models are awesome to say the least and I intened to use them extensively for the remainder of the year.
I experimented with one report by replacing some datasources with an AS source.
For example, the following. It contains an AS source(The name of the Power BI dataset is Variance Analysis 2021) and an Analaysis Service Query(The name of the analysis service database is Variance Analysis 2021). This report does not have any RLS.
This model is working fine and I can see the report from the service . However, in our organization, we share report with others (internal company and external client) by embedding them in a client portal and we never had any problem with any of the reports. But for this report in particular, the visuals that come from the AS source are not being displayed on the report embedded in the client portal (please see below).
I am not sure what do we need to do in order for them to be working.
Thank you in advance.
Hey @smpa01
Last thought is check to make sure user groups are the same in both sides.
Either user groups or credentials is all that I can imagine that is causing the issue.
Hey this is a credential issue with the gateway.
make sure you have updated the credentials for the composite model in the dataset refresh area.

@Anonymous thanks for looking into it. I am not sure if it is indeed a credential issue here. I don't see any problem here.
Hi @smpa01 - just checking if the dataset with DirectQuery to AS connection resides in a Shared Capacity workspace, while the embedded report uses embedded capacity? We've seen an issue with connecting to push datasets (Shared Capacity regardless of the mode of the workspace they reside it) from datasets in premium-enabled workspaces. It seems like a mismatch between them can cause issues, but it would be nice to hear that from MSFT.
Have a good one,
Joel
Hey @Anonymous Direct Query to AS connection resides in a Power BI Premium Capacity. I honestly don't know how the report from power bi service gets embedded in our client portal. I don't get involved in that as client portal managers dont like the BI writers to mess up with the Client portal settings.
hello @smpa01 , Have you got any solution for this issue?
I need to embed a report having composite model to our web portal. Could you please help?
@vibhorsinghal We did reach out to MS on this issue and we got to know from them that composite does not have embed support yet.
