New Card Visual shows hidden primary value in Power BI Service but not in Desktop

Oi pessoal,

Comportamento esperado:

No Power BI Desktop, tudo parece bem — o valor principal fica oculto e somente o rótulo de detalhes é mostrado.

Comportamento real no serviço do Power BI:

Obrigado!

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with the new Card visual in Power BI.

📌 Scenario:

In Power BI Desktop, I created a New Card visual where I:

  • Used a placeholder measure as the primary value

  • Hid the primary value, because I only want to show the Detail label

  • In the Detail label, I display the correct measure and add custom text (e.g., "Total: 123")

Expected Behavior:

In Power BI Desktop, everything looks fine — the primary value is hidden, and only the detail label is shown.

Actual Behavior in Power BI Service:

After publishing the report to the Power BI Service:

  • The primary value (which is hidden in Desktop) is being displayed again in the visual.

  • It seems the service is ignoring the visibility setting for the primary value.

🧪 What I’ve Tried:

  • Rechecked all visibility settings in the visual

  • Republished the report

  • Cleared browser cache and used "Reset to default" in the service

  • Tried using a BLANK() measure as primary value — this works as a workaround

  • Also tested formatting the font color to white, which visually hides it but is not ideal

📎 Additional Info:

  • Using the latest version of Power BI Desktop (April 2025)

  • The issue persists across browsers and in different tenants

  • This behavior is inconsistent between Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service

🔍 Question:

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue or expected behavior in the new Card visual?

Any help or workaround would be appreciated. Thanks!
