So after the list slicer stopped behaving properly once the report was published, now the new button slicer decided to act up too. 😅
It works perfectly fine in Desktop, but the issue only appears in the Service.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
Hi @mussaenda ,
Looks like this is a possible solution
simply changed the button padding option to narrow and the text has now been centred on both the Desktop and the Power BI Pro service as well.
they are all in narrow already. I always use narrow in my slicers to keep it neat. The only solution is to adjust the size.
Thanks for suggesting! 🙂

Hi @mussaenda
Yes, there's a known issue where the new button slicer works fine in Desktop but breaks or has inconsistent formatting in Power BI Service, especially after the October 2025 update. The most common cause is the feature being in preview and not fully supported in Service yet.
For a quick workaround make sure 'New Button Slicer' is enabled in Service preview features. If using a custom report theme, update your theme JSON to support the latest button states. The 'Grid' arrangement in particular is broken in Service for now.
I believe Microsoft is aware and working on a fix.
For now, manually formatting or recreating problematic slicers after publishing sometimes helps, but is not ideal for larger reports.

Yeah, I ended up adjusting the sizes to compromise the issue. However, I might end up using the normal slicer again just how i handled the list slicer before
Yeah, that makes sense. The new button slicer has lots of promise but can be a bit tricky in service right now. Using the normal slicer again until things stabilize sounds like a practical approach. Hopefully, Microsoft fixes the grid arrangement issue soon so we can confidently switch back
