Need help with a A4 Sku to a P Skus

Hi all,

Let's say that I want to purchase a P skus but I dont know exacty which one should I go for. Instead of buying a P Sku I buy an A4 SKU (=P1) just because I want to test if P1 or A4 cores can handle the workload but without having the annual commitment and with the possibility to scale up and down. Is this possible ? But if I want to make all this tests I need to have an external application correct ? Or where is it possible to make some load tests?

Thanks in advance,

Andrea

Hi , @AndreaLee1212

According to my research, this is achievable, you can search for "Power BI Embedded" in the Azure portal, then follow the guidance of this official document to create and use one of your subscriptions, resource group, and then choose the A4 SKU to successfully implement your needs:
Purchase Power BI Premium for testing - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

After the creation is successful and turned on, you can go to your "Manage capacity" to find your A4 capacity and try to assign some production or test workspaces to test the performance of the capacity:

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
