Need help about gateway process.

Hello Team,

Can anyone help to know about gateways procedure. actually i develop the report with some of the datasource like Google Big Query and MySQL. i published the report into the service. and i tried to put schedule refresh. and i installed gateway in my local system when my system in on refresh is working fine and when my system is in off the refresh is failing because gateway is in offline can't reached error message i'm getting. so, can any one help the process i need to approach this issue. how can i refresh my report even my system is off.

You need to install gateway on a system running 24*7, so that whenever schedule refresh occurre it will be available to send data to power bi web

You can choose any production server/vm for this purpose

Also it's not mandatory but recommend to have dedicated server for gateway so that it will not have any resource issue.

Actually I have installed a connector for mysql in order to get data from the source with Power Bi Desktop. is there any other process without any connectors using can we get data into the power bi.

for custom connectors you will require gateway in place
so your approach is correct you only need to migrate your gateway to a production system running 24*7 to resolve current issue.
