Need Help ASAP!!! Dataflow Tables Gone!
- Anonymous1 year ago
Hi dbrandone ,
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Fabric Community. Also thankyou GilbertQ for your inputs. When adding the new table, the existing queries were not retained in the Power Query editor, and saving the dataflow overwrote the previous 30 tables. Unfortunately, Power BI Dataflows do not have a built-in undo option, but there are a few ways you can attempt recovery.
First, you can try using the Power BI Scanner API to retrieve metadata, including the Power Query (M) scripts for your dataflow. This might help recover the lost queries, allowing you to manually recreate them. If your organization has audit logging enabled, you can also check the Microsoft Purview Compliance Center for recent modifications to the dataflow and possibly extract the previous structure.
If backups were taken in your Power BI workspace, restoring from a previous version might be an option.
If this post helps, then please give us Kudos and consider Accept it as a solution to help the other members find it more quickly.
Thankyou.
Hi dbrandone
The only thing that springs to mind where you could maybe see what were in the contents of your dataflow is to use the scanner API, which should then have all the data with regards to your data flows as well as the power query expressions that were in there. The only other option is to longer support ticket.
