Navigating from Dashboard to Report using URL and passing the filters selected in the Dashboard

I currently have a requirement and appreciate any ideas.

I have a dashboard with two slicers and I have an URL custom link navigating to the corresponding report and this report has drill down view of the dashboard tile.

If the user selects a slicer value, the dashboard values are filtered based on the slicer values. Then clicking on the url, upon navigation to the report, the slicer values are not preserved and currently showing data based on the default slicer value selected. Is there a way I can pass the slicer values selected in dashboard on to the report also upon navigation so that the User doesn't need to select slicer values again upon navigation.

Any Suggestions

Thanks

Anonymous The only way you have a dashboard with slicers is if you are pinning a report page to the dashboard. In this context, it would be the same as being on a report page. It sounds like you have a URL that navigates from this 1st report page to another and want the filter context to travel through. Currently, it will not. But the good news, is that this functionality is coming soon. Check out the Data Insights Summit Keynote at about 51 minutes, and Amir and Kim walk through the new "Drillthrough" functionality that should be dropping this month or next. They also talk about bookmarking, which I believe will extend to end users "saving" their selections, but we'll see.
