Navigate from Report to Dashboard

Hello:

I have created reports using desktop. After publishing it, I pinned the tiles to the dashboard. I am able to navigate from desktop to the report. How would I navigate back to Dashboard?

I was thinking of creating a button in all the reports and link to dashboard with URL. Is there any other way I can do this.

Thanks

~Nita

Hi @Anonymous ,

Currently, using url is the only way I can think about. Power BI does not have such feature itself.

For example, if you have two dashabords, surely you can navigate to the report from anyone of the dashabords. But from report to dashabord, without url, Power BI does not know which dashboard you want to navigate to.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I don't think you can do that because a report can correspond to multiple dashboards.

If you don’t follow the corresponding URL to return, how does the PBI know which dashboard to jump to?

Is this possible yet? With urls would be fine if they didn't open new windows.

Couple follow up question?

  • So how do you go back to dashboard?
  • From dashboard can you jump to the report in a new window?

I am trying to see how will make sure my audience has access to dashboard all the time.
