MySQL Max Connection Limit - How long does Power BI hold onto a connection when refreshing

Do we have any documentation on when Power BI refreshes from the Gateway how long it holds onto the MySQL connection? I've noticed that some of my datasets which connect to multiple MySQL database on multiple servers will sometimes come back with a Max Connection issue, which I will then have to use a Flush Host command. Generally the queries we are running aren't super complex (4-5 queries). It seems like Power BI leaves these connections open, or is it possible MySQL is leaving them open instead?
