My Workspace not visible on Welcome Screen

The My Workspace link is not visible when the Workspace is empty. See picture below. The link is there and I can click on it but it is not visible. This doesn't affect me but it does my end users who are coming to Power BI for the first time.

I can hover over the link and even inspect the page code so I know its there just not visible. See picture below. Once I click the invisible My Workspace link I am into my Workspace and can navigate as required.

Can Microsoft confirm that this is an issue? If so, are they going to resolve it?

Can someone suggest a user friendly, i.e. not a link, way of getting to the a Power BI group workspace when the default workspace is not visible like outline above?

Thanks.

Anonymous Unless something is not working right, you should just be able to click on "Power BI" and be taken to your workspace.

I'm torn on whether this is a good first screen because it makes perfect sense that a new user should connect to something first. That is step 1. But from a consumption perspective, doesn't really apply if all I'm doing is viewing reports that other people have created for me via dashboards or shared workspaces.

Anonymous I have seen this happening many times. Basically if you have anything published to your power bi service account it will automatically give you left  hand navigation but if you don't have anything published (report or dataset) and logging in for the first time you won't get that left hand navigation. I think it is by design and I don't mind that as if  you don't have anything in service then left hand side navigation is going to be empty as well.

    Hi Anonymous,

Based on my test, the issue is caused by that there is nothing published to Power BI Service, so the My Workspace button is not available. But if you get any data or publish reports to Power BI Service, the left pane displays and the My Workspace button is available. In my opinion, this is by design. It doesn't affect use of Power BI Service, please don't worry about this. :smileyhappy:
