Multiple error during Power BI sign-up process with multiple users all with a Correlation ID issue

We have multiple people within our domain getting a Correlation ID when attempting to sign into powerbi for the first time.  Most people seem to work and are able to sign up for an account but a significant portion are not able to.  Perhaps config setting but it is not clear what that might be.

  1. Navigated to here https://app.powerbi.com/singleSignOn?en=https%3A%2F%2Fapp.powerbi.com%2F%3FnoSignUpCheck%3D1
  2. Entered my email address and clicked "Submit"

Upon submission, a number of people keep recieving the following error message:

"Sorry, that didn't work. You can try refreshing the page to solve the problem. You can also wait a few minutes and try again. Correlation ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

We have attempted refreshing the page and waiting before trying again, but the issue persists.

I've seen similar issues and also went through this process without resolving it.

  1. Make sure you're using a work or school email, not a personal email.
  2. clear your browser cache and cookies, then restart your browser.
  3. Try using another browser
  4. Visit Microsoft Service Health to see if Power BI is experiencing an outage.
  5. Make sure you are using this Direct URL: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/products/power-bi/getting-started-with-power-bi
  6. Try signing up again in private window.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?  Or working out why this might happen?

Kind Regards

Jon

Hi @Jonalford

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric community.

The Correlation ID error during Power BI sign-up usually points to authentication issues, tenant configuration restrictions, or Microsoft service availability concerns. Since some users can sign up while others cannot, the issue is likely related to Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) settings, licensing limitations, or policy restrictions. Additionally, some organizations disable self-service sign-ups or enforce Conditional Access Policies that restrict access for specific groups.

If the issue persists, raising a support ticket with Microsoft may help identify and resolve the underlying cause, as recommended by super user collinq.

Hi @Jonalford ,

I think that the list of items that you stated are not working for you are pretty much what everybody would suggest to you as the solution.  You should create a ticket since this is happening to more than one person.  You can create a ticket here: Power Platform admin center
