Hey pbi1908 ,

 

I consider this not correct forum asking if a certain "concept" is considered a violation of license terms. Instead, I recommend reaching out to your MSFT sales representative.

 

Effective user name helps in regards to RLS but unfortunately does not apply when you share an account, the reason is simple: PPU (Premium Per User) is a "personalized" license type, for this reason, the feature effective user name can not be used. From my perspective sharing an account is a violation of license terms, but I'm not a MSFT employee and for this reason everything I share on this forum is my personal view and I can not hold responsible for anything.

You can use RLS and Effective user name in combination with Power BI Embedded in so-called user owns data scenarios: Security in Power BI embedded analytics - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
