Hello all,
So I have a customer who has a lot of Power BI content that has been built in a pro account that is used by their organization. This pro account has been damaged through domain changes and it is not reliable at the moment and I am not sure I trust this account for a production environment even if I get it working properly again.
Is there a way to migrate all the Power BI content (datasets, reports, dashboards) into a new account and make that the new pro shared account. Essentially I need to backup and restore the account content, and it is too late for the old adage of build everyhing in Power BI desktop and use that to manage it as my user has hundreds of hours invested building these reports and dashboards.
Thanks.
Jeremy
This is a serious problem.
If somebody leaves your company - the PBI Web dashboard is linked to their desktop. They can transfer the PBI file but it means having to republish and then share with hundreds of users!!
Hi @jkingry,
You can create content packs that conatins the report/dataset/dashboard, publish to the group or organization. In this way, members inside the same group or organization have access to all reports as well as underlying data.
The option you mentioned that tranferring Power BI content directly to another account is not available currently. Someone has submitted this feature request here, you can click to vote it up. And our product team is planning to add it to future release.
Best regards,
Yuliana Gu
