Move from Personal Email id to Service Account

Hi

Currently the data gateway and the powerbi service is configured using an individual personal email account. Now as the guy is moving out of organisation his email id too will get disabled soon.

We are planning to move to use Service Account to configure Power BI.

Can anyone pls help here to give direction how we can do that. WHat steps to follow in order to move away from individual email account to use a Service Account.

1. Create the Service Account in Azure AD

2. Go here and register the service account as a gateway installer: Power Platform admin center (microsoft.com)

3. Download the gateway and install it using the Service Account

4. Register your data sources, etc.

This topic is actually covered pretty well in Mastering Power BI 2nd Edition. You will also most likely want to add this Service Account as a Administrator in all the different workspaces.
