Monitor Tab in Service not displaying correct refresh status
Hi Forum,
I am trying to identify all semantic models with a refresh status of Failed, and I'm using the Monitor panel from the Service sidebar. As it says at the top of the panel, I understand that only workspaces that I have access to are visible to me, but I want to use this to identify any outstanding failures. However, there appear to be red herrings, i.e. models with status Failed when they actually are refreshing correctly. It looks like some of them are older (but no longer existing) versions of the new models that are refreshing correctly. My question is: are these visible in any other way and can they be removed? It would quite annoying to have to simply ignore them each time the Monitor panel is viewed.
Thanks,
Ali

From looking, it is not possible in the monitoring tab.
But if you run Get Refreshables For Capacity API you can return the refreshes for the last 7 day. Then you can build reporting to return the status of the last refresh per semantic model

Hi Deku, thanks for your message,
I don't have a Premium or Fabric capacity so I'm not sure I can use this endpoint. The docs say the data is only for the last 7 days of refreshes and the data models being falsely flagged as Failed Power BI displays the refresh start/end date as many months ago.

Hi v-prasare ,
I did respond to Deku 's message, the solution was not of help to me as I don't think I can access the endpoint without a Fabric/Premium capacity.
Even if that had worked, it still doesn't really explain why the Monitor panel shows models that no longer exist in our domain as being in a failed state of refresh.- v-prasareCommunity Support

Hi ali_iopp,
Just checking — have you had a chance to open a support ticket, as suggested by the super user? If so, we'd love to hear the current status or any updates from that.
If the issue was resolved through the support ticket, it would be great if you could share the solution here as well. It could really help other community members find answers more quickly.
Warm regards,

Hi Anonymous I thought I needed to be a Fabric Admin to raise one so I had asked a colleague but I have seen I can raise one myself so have done, I will update here when there is any progress on the ticket.

Hi ali_iopp,
Just a gentle reminder — has your issue been resolved? If so, we’d be grateful if you could mark the solution that worked as Accepted Solution, or feel free to share your own if you found a different fix.
This not only closes the loop on your query but also helps others in the community solve similar issues faster.
Thank you for your time and feedback!

The suggested solution was that there is a difference in the monitoring tab if the user had permissions to see a semantic model existed and were revoked before the model was then updated to refresh corretly (or removed entirely).
I'm not convinced this has fully solved the issue as other users who are the owners of some of these reports have the same issue, but I have moved onto other things now so I'm just coping with the incorrectly flagged failing models.

Hi ali_iopp,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
Thanks for the update earlier. Just checking in have you had any further luck identifying the root cause or finding a workaround since then? I know you mentioned moving on to other things, but if you’ve discovered anything new or found a self-solution, it would be great if you could share it here for others facing the same issue. Appreciate any updates!
If this solution helped, please consider marking the response as accepted and giving it a thumbs-up so others can benefit as well.
Best regards,
Prasanna Kumar
