Model views disappear once the the dataset is published to the service

I have a medium sized data model for which I have created a number of model views in Power BI Desktop to assist users. Once I publish that dataset to the service and then connect to the dataset from Power BI Desktop the model views don't show up and instead I get one very jumbled view of all the tables and their relationships.  This dataset is for self service reporting so having a tidy and consistent view of the tables and relationships is important for the user.  Is being able to persist the model views once you publish the dataset to the service not supported or am I missing something?  I have the latest version of Power BI Desktop installed via the Microsoft Store.

This is what one of the model views should look like:

And this is what I get when connecting to the published dataset:

Hi @jmsavagetcc

No you are not missing anything. That is the default behaviour. As per my understanding, All the layouts that you create in model view will be consolidated in the All tables layout and custom layouts will be removed once you published. If you connect your report to published dataset then you will see only "All tables" layout and you will have option to create custom layouts again if you want to see it.

Thanks

Hari

Thanks for that confirmation @Hariharan_R .  I will put an idea in for it I think.
