Mixed Mode with powerbi://
In PBI Desktop, I have built a report that pulls data from an on-premise SQL server. There are multiple tables and all use Import. Then there is also a PowerBI Dataset connection to dataset published in our PBI portal. This is listed as DirectQuery and the connection lists as "powerbi://api.powerbi.com....". The PBI dataset has a relationship established to one of the import tables. Everything works fine in desktop.
When published, the visuals work at first. However, after configuring the settings on the dataset so that the import tables refresh via our gateway, and performing a refresh, the visuals break. There is no error on the refresh itself just the visuals. The PBI dataset is listed as optional, so I leave that alone.
How can I get a scheduled refresh for this mixed mode storage report/dataset?
Hi jlucarelli ,
I try to reproduce your issue on my pc. But all things work well. If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".

Have you set the credentials for DirectQuery?
See Data Source Credentials section from here:

Thanks for the suggestion. I entered the credentials. I get an successful update message for their entry, but the visuals on the report still present the same error.
