Microsoft Text Slicer(preview) is not synchronizing the filter across the pages properly

This is a known limitation of the new Text Slicer (Preview).

While it syncs correctly in Power BI Desktop, the sync behavior is not fully supported in Power BI Service yet. Even if Sync slicers is enabled, the value applied in the Text Slicer does not propagate across pages after publishing.

Key points:

• The Text Slicer is still marked Preview

• Feature parity between Desktop and Service is incomplete

• Slicer synchronization across pages in Power BI Service is not guaranteed for preview visuals

This is not a configuration issue on your side.

Workarounds:

• Use the classic slicer if cross-page sync in Service is required

• Or duplicate the Text Slicer on each page (manual workaround)

• Track the issue and raise it via Power BI Ideas / Support, as this requires a Service-side update from Microsoft

Bottom line:
Until the Text Slicer exits preview and is fully supported in the Service, sync slicers across pages will be unreliable after publish.

This error is still ocurring, not in Power BI Desktop, but remains in Power BI Service

You can also mention a couple of practical checks and expectations to make the answer more complete:

Preview visuals can behave differently depending on Power BI Service update cadence. Even if Desktop is up to date, the Service may still be running a backend version where this feature isn’t enabled or stabilized yet.

This behavior can vary by tenant or region, so some users may see partial functionality while others don’t.

Clearing browser cache or testing in another browser won’t resolve this issue, since it’s not client-side.

Once the visual moves out of Preview, sync behavior is expected to be aligned, so keeping an eye on Power BI release notes is recommended.

These points help reassure the user that nothing is broken on their end and set the right expectations until Microsoft officially supports the feature in the Service.

Currently, the issue seems to persist in the Power BI Service, while Power BI Desktop is functioning normally. Since the fix was scheduled for mid-February 2026, it’s possible the update hasn’t reached all regions or tenants yet, or there may still be some inconsistencies with the Text Slicer (Preview) on the service side.

Because this visual is still in Preview, differences between Desktop and Service may continue until Microsoft provides full support and stabilization.

As a temporary workaround, you might try:

• Using the classic slicer if synchronized filtering across pages is needed in the Service
• Manually reapplying the slicer on each page
• Testing in a new report to check if the issue is tenant- or report-specific
