Microsoft Fabric Free license

Hi,

I'd like to understandard how Microsoft Fabric(free) License have no expiration on the M365 Admin Center license page but shows 60-days trial when assigned to user? Does it mean I need to re-assign a license to a user again when it expires?

Thank you,

Ovsp

Hi. It's a naming issue for me. The Microsoft Fabric (Free) it's a license that goes by user. When you assign that to an user, they can login at the portal and have their own "My Workspace" to only build personal PowerBi content. (reports, semantic model, dashboards) It's the old Power Bi Free license. If you try to create Fabric Content it will ask you if you want turn on a trial of Fabric Capacity. The Fabric Capacity is the license that allow users to create Fabric Content (notebooks, lakehouse, warehouse, pipelines, etc). The Fabric capacity has a 60 days trial to let users test its content. Once that's finished, a Microsoft Fabric Free user will only be able to use it's personal "My Workspace" with the PowerBi Content again. When using the "Capacity" you will see diamond next to the workspace name.

I hope that make sense

Hi, @ovsp

Yes. After the free license expires you can reassign your users, and they can be assigned in Power BI Service by clicking Start Trial.
