Microsoft Entra ID - inviting an external user to power bi service

Hi everyone,

This subject has been posted many times but i can't find the answer to the problem i'm having.

I've published a report (i have a pro license) on BI Service and i want an external user (with a pro license too) to access this report as a viewer.

Here are the steps i followed :

1/ Azure : i created an new user via Microsoft Entra ID. I filled the email field* with his BI id (email address) :

2/ BI Service : in the tenant settings, all the basic authorizations have been activated for external users :

3/ BI Service workspace containing the report : the external user ID has been set to "Viewer"

4/ Microsoft Entra ID : an invitation was sent to the external user's email address. He received the email and clicked on "Accept invitation" which redirected him to the web page "My apps" with nothing on it :

The user should have been redirected to my organization's BI Service, right ?

Can someone help me out please ?

Hey @AnthNC ,

provide the link to your workspace to the external user.

Hopefully, this is the missing link.

I'll try that.

I'm still curious though. How come he was redirected to an empty "my app" space ? Shouldn't there be at least a Power Bi icon or some link to the report ?

I sent the workspace link to the external user. He got this message :

"Sorry we couldn't find the report".

Do you have any advice, suggestions, tell me what I'm doing wrong or misunderstanding a core concept ?
