I am using PowerBI service to build a report. I was working on this report from last 2 weeks, since I using PowrBI with direct query (because of large datasets), I can' t create the complex calculated columns there.
So I added some column in backend, after the refresh my whole progress, all measure , all viz , data model got disappear.
Please help me with that how can I recover my progress.
FYI - Report is not deleted , I checked the usage metrics its the same report only progress I made in the report got disappeared.
Hi @Asktheanalyst ,
If it is convenient for you, you can explain in more detail what the data connection process and structure of your report looks like.
If you can find a .pbix file archived locally, or if you can use the "Download pbix file" function to download the report locally and open it, reconfigure the connection credentials to see if there are any updates after refreshing the data. Because Power bi desktop's data refresh is a schema refresh, the service may not recognise the column additions or changes.

That is very risky. Anyone can create a PBIX with the same name, upload it to the workspace and destroy your work. There is no Undo or Redo button in the service. I know Microsoft is working on feature parity between Desktop and Service but we are still far away from that.
At a minimum make regular backups by downloading the PBIX.
