Merging two Power BI tenants

Hi,

Our company is about to go into a merger with another company. Does anyone know of material that can help us merge our Power BI tenants? I guess it will be part of the O365 integration, but wasnt able to find any material on the Power BI part.

Thank you.

    Hi Anonymous,

I'm afraid there's no out-of-the-box solution for that (that I know of). The best I can think of is to contact MS support for that.

And I think they will direct you to the Power BI PowerShell commands or the REST API. And still, these commands only work inside the same tenant, AFAIK. You might have to export everything and import it back into the new tenant.

    Hi Anonymous ,

Unfortunately, Power BI is a product of Microsoft and has no authority to interfere with the settings of higher-level subjects. sorry for any inconvenience.

I suggest that you can verify which scope your tenant belongs to (such as Azure or O365), and go to the corresponding technical support page to open a support ticket. Generally, it should be possible to migrate and merge the data of the two tenants.

You can also open a support ticket in Power BI Community. The link is as follows.

    File a support ticket here.

Hope the problem will be resolved soon.

Hope that's what you were looking for.

    Best Regards,

    Yuna
