Merging Two Power BI Reports into a Single File While Keeping Separate Data Models
I have two Power BI reports, each with its own data model, DAX Measures, and visualizations. I would like to combine them into a single Power BI file while ensuring that:
- Both reports retain their separate data models (without merging datasets).
- The DAX measures and visualizations remain independent.
- The reports exist as separate tabs/pages within the same file.
What would be the best approach to achieve this?
Hello danishrizvi
Merging two Power BI reports into a single file while maintaining separate data models is not natively supported because a `.pbix` file can only contain one unified data model.
Use Power BI Apps for Unified Access:
1. Publish Both Reports: Upload the two reports to a Power BI workspace.
2. Create an App: Bundle both reports into a single app for stakeholders. Users see both reports as separate entities in one app interface

Hi danishrizvi
Power BI doesn’t support combining two reports into a single .pbix file while keeping separate models. Each file can only have one data model.
If you just want to present both together, the best workaround is to publish both reports to a workspace and then bundle them into a single Power BI App. That way, users can access them in one place, but each report stays separate.
