Hmmm I am not sure what else could be affecting the change then.
The only thing I could think of is once it has refreshed on the Power BI Service, if you download that version of the PBIX and compare the differences between the 2 PBIX files?

GilbertQ It seems a custom column's data disapears once the refresh happens, do you think this would happen with a calculated column?
- GilbertQ7 years agoSuper UserThat should not happen on a calculated column
I would suggest always creating the column in the Query editor, it allows for better compression and faster refreshes.- abarnett7 years agoHelper I
GilbertQ I prefer creating it in the Query too..but this is where it is already and for some reason the refresh is erasing that data.

The refresh will only apply the steps that it has in the PBIX, I have never seen anything deleted by the refresh process.
I would suggest comparing the PBIX files to see the difference.
