Measure Slicer Appears a a Dropdown Online
I published a report containing a slicer for a measure (the measure is continuous). When it is accessed in the dashboard, it is only available as a dropdown or list.

When you create a slicer on a field, the type of the field decided what type/mode of the slicer it should be. Unless the user explicitly sets the mode of the slicer, we do not persist any mode. So when you turn on the preview feature in desktop and create a slicer on numeric field, it will default to a between mode but this mode will not be persisted since it is not explicitly set. There is no control for preview features on service. Hence on service when this slicer is rendered, with no persisted mode, it will render it in list view. This behavior is by design. Once the preview feature is removed, it will default to between mode on service as well.
Till then the workaround is to explicitly set the mode before publishing. (Change to some other mode and change back to between).Best Regards,

How exactly does one "explicitly set the mode before publishing" please? I have searched & searched & searched - finding nothing. I am a fairly new Power BI user, only just discovered the sliding slicer last week when making modifications to an existing report for my boss. MOST disappointed that it reverts to dropdown on publish to web.
