Matrix visual column width problem started April 25-26th
A very similar problem to Matrix visual column width rendering regression in... - Microsoft Fabric Community but Microsoft are still saying in my ticket that they didn't make any changes that weekend...

I was able to find an active Known Issue on the Microsoft Fabric Support page related to Matrix visual column widths changing or resetting unexpectedly in Power BI Service, and it appears to match the behavior described in this thread.
Based on the details shared there, Microsoft has acknowledged that column widths may not stay preserved after publishing and that the issue can happen even without report changes. Since you already have an active support ticket, it would be best to continue following up through that channel for further updates or fixes from Microsoft.
