Is anyone seeing an issue with the Mass Filter visual in the service? PBIX file works fine but with published reports to the app they're showing "Please setup a field to filter on". All of our reports were working fine before this morning with this filter/visual. Please help!

The developers of this mass filter did an update which resulted in loosing the filter field.
You need to edit each mass filter field and add the filter field again, which resolves the issue.
Hi @tjs2911
If the Mass Filter visual is working fine in Power BI Desktop (PBIX file) but is showing the error "Please setup a field to filter on" in Power BI Service after publishing, it could be due to a recent update or a service-related issue affecting custom visuals. Since your reports were functioning correctly before this morning, it’s possible that a Power BI Service update has changed how the visual interacts with fields. To troubleshoot, first, try republishing the report to see if it resolves the issue. Also, check whether the visual needs an update—sometimes, custom visuals require re-importing the latest version from AppSource. Ensure that the fields assigned to the visual are still mapped correctly in Power BI Service and that there are no dataset permission changes affecting field accessibility. If the issue persists, test by removing and re-adding the Mass Filter visual in Desktop and republishing. Additionally, clearing your browser cache or testing in an incognito window might help rule out caching issues. If none of these steps resolve the issue, check the Power BI Support page for any ongoing incidents or reach out to Microsoft Support to confirm if this is a known bug.
Hi @tjs2911 ,
If you're seeing the "Please setup a field to filter on" message for the Mass Filter visual in the Power BI Service—while everything works fine in the PBIX file—it’s likely due to a recent service-side change or issue affecting custom visuals. This kind of behavior can occur when Power BI updates the service or there's a compatibility hiccup with third-party visuals.
To resolve it, try updating the Mass Filter visual in Power BI Desktop by re-importing it from AppSource, then republish your report. It's also worth clearing your browser cache or testing the report in a different browser or workspace to rule out rendering issues. Additionally, double-check that the field being used in the visual hasn't been renamed or removed from the dataset. If the issue persists, it may be a temporary bug on the Power BI Service side, and raising a support ticket with Microsoft would be advisable.

I found the field that it corresponds to, uncheck, then re-check and it works for me.

Yes, it updated yesterday and it's not working anymore. If anyone knows how to sort this out, let me know. (Brazil)
My colleagues in Belgium in Netherlands are facing the same issue. For me in Germany the mass filter has not changed. Although we are all using the same report.
For me it looks like this and works fine:
For them it looks like this and they can't use the filter:

It broke a lot of reports for me. This is ridiculous. They should have created a new version for download.
That solves the issue, thanks a lot!
