Maps Visual sporadically working

So I have noticed over the past month or so that the Maps Visual isn't always working when I open my models in the service. This seems to be a recent service issue because the model hasn't changed over the past two years and only the data is being updated on an ongoing basis. The weird thing is that sometimes when I publish new data, the maps will start working again, but then later go blank.

I also re-downloaded the latest version of PowerBI, thinking that maybe I have a corrupted desktop app, but now none of the maps are showing (desktop or service). 

The maps visuals were working great up until a month or two ago when they all of a sudden started blanking out (nothing had changed with the models other than just the data being updated). That suggests to me that something has changed on Microsoft's side.

That could be - that Microsoft changed something somewhere.  Perhaps open a ticket and see what they tell you.

This has nothing to do with Bing. The maps sometimes show, and other times don't. There is no logic as to why they are doing what they are doing. I just created a new dashboard, and the map will not show on the desktop but will show in the service. I've also got an older dashboard that has a map that works perfectly on the desktop but will not show in the service.

If this is the default map, you will have to be signed into Bing as well with the same userid so that the data on the map will appear.
