Managing Report Access: Difference between a Reader and a Viewer?

Hi,   Wondering what the difference between "Reader" and "Viewer" is?  I'm not sure how I ended up creating the different roles, but essentially, I want the people I grant access to be able to view...

    Hi Anonymous ,

Read is one of the permissions users can do for workspace content. Read access does provide specific report / dashboard consumers the ability to not only view, but also interact with visuals. When granting access to one user with no option selected, the user will be given read access only.

Viewer is a role in a workspace. The Viewer role gives a read-only experience to its users. In other words, it's one of the user types(Admin, Member, Contributor, Viewer) in Power BI Workspaces. The viewers need to be added into a workspace. And they have all read-only access to all workspace content, not only specific report / dashboard / dataset.

In addition, this post is about Power BI Service, not Power BI Report Server. I will move it from Report Server forum to Service forum.

    Best Regards,

    Icey
