Currently, both Members and Contributors can create email subscriptions for other users. However, only Members can edit Workspace permissions.
If Contributors can create subscriptions for Non-Workspace Users without the ability to modify Workspace permissions, it creates a permissions issue.
Can we ensure that only those who can edit Workspace permissions (i.e., Members) are able to create subscriptions for Non-Workspace Users to avoid potential security risks?
Hi,@tenant
1.Your request is not possible with the current version of powerBi for the time being.
2.I offer you the following solution:
You can add your workspace role as member to a group and then add the whole group to subscribers :
3.Below is the content of the relevant documentation:
Roles in workspaces in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Email subscriptions for reports and dashboards in the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Create a group in the admin center - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn
If you feel that performance needs to be improved, you can also submit an idea on Home (microsoft.com) and wait for users with the same needs as you to vote for you and help you realize the idea as soon as possible.
Best Regards,
Leroy Lu
