Hi,
We are currently refreshing business central api data with a standard user account. This account will be enabled for MFA authentication in the next weeks and we were wondering what the best practice is.
Can we create a service account or can we use an app to refresh the data in the power bi service? Can PowerBI use Client/App ID and Client Secret to autheticate on business central?
Thanks for any help.

Hi @JohnF5343
You would need to ask the business central people who look after the API if you can use a Client/AppID to use to authenticate with business central.
It is certainly true that you cannot use an account with MFA because when it is automated there is no option to enter the MFA.
Thank you. They have created an app for me but I'm unsure how to proceed, how do I enter these details in the power bi desktop? Thanks.
