I have a few questions about live semantic model.
I developed a full report and publish in the service (RLS working) import mode. (Original SM)
So I need a new report (Report 2) from source as original semantic model, so If I developed this report using live semantic model (Original SM)
I read Documentation but I don't understand in all.
the questions are:
1. Is RLS working from new report? e.g active roles in Original SM.
2.- Some DAX functions have this stament from documentation: This function is not supported for use in DirectQuery mode when used in calculated columns or row-level security (RLS) rules.
In the live semantic model the table are DirectQuery not Import (Original SM)
3.- Could be it integrated in APP (the new report 2) ? No issues.
4.-Perfomance issues?
thanks in advance.

Hi @Peter_23
Giving a short yet detailed answer of your questions:
RLS in Report 2: Yes, RLS will work in Report 2 because it inherits the roles and rules from the original semantic model (Original SM).
DAX Limitations: Some DAX functions may not work in DirectQuery mode for calculated columns or RLS, but this applies to the original model. In Report 2 (live connection), you can't define new calculated columns or RLS; it relies on the Original SM.
App Integration: Yes, you can add Report 2 to an app without any issues as long as permissions and roles are properly configured.
Performance: Live connections depend on the Original SM's performance. If the Original SM struggles (e.g., complex DAX, large datasets), Report 2 will also face performance issues. Optimize the Original SM for best results.
Hope it helps you, and clears your doubt regarding the topics you mentioned.
