Link displaying on hover on the report extracted from Service into PPT
- 2 years ago
Hi Anonymous - Sorry for the late reply. Actually, I am not able to find any direct solution. For now as a temperaray workaround, I exported the dashbaord in PDF format. Once, the PDF exported, I used the edit option and added the link. Atleast, when I hover the visuals, I can see a small link which I provided instead of all the addition information which was shown in the screenshot attached in the question.
Hi,Vibee_93
1.In response to your question, I made the following test:
First, I exported the report as ppt:
Next export to pdf in powerpoint:
Finally, open with Adobe:
But my end result is not dynamic interaction. Can you share your steps?
2.Here is a link to the related document I can find, I hope it will help you:
Setting action buttons in PDF forms, Adobe Acrobat
3.The alternatives we can give are as follows:
First, you can invite the external users you need to share:
Here is the documentation:
Distribute content to external guest users with Microsoft Entra B2B - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Second, if you want to retain the ability to interact with a visual object, you can try to share the link directly with him:
Here is the documentation:
Share Power BI reports and dashboards with coworkers and others - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Or use embedded code that preserves the interaction with the report visual object.
Here is the documentation:
Embed a report in a secure portal or website - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Thank you for your response.
On the point 1, I have published the dashbaord which has button mapped with an action. From the service, I am exporting into PPT which will preserve the actions and then I convert them into PDF. Once click the options in PDF which is taking me to service. From ther I need to click again which is fine. My only requirments to hide or not show the yellow text box shown in the screenshot on hovering the visuals in PDF.
