License requirements Business Central / Power BI

Hi There

I have tried to find some information in the internet but with no luck.

I have a szenario where I have one Business Central USer and would like to set up Power BI for multiple Users.

Can I use a single Business Central Data Source with just one  Business Central License for multiple Power BI Users?

lets say I have 1 business Central License and 10 Power BI PRO Licneses. Or do I need to purchase additonal 9 Business Central Licenses?

kind regards

Jonas

What do you mean by this satement:

"So, in your scenario, 10 users using reports, then you will need 10 licenses"

With 10 Licenses you mean 10 Business Central Licenses?

What about if i connect with power BI directly to the Database? Do I still need 10 Business Central Licenses?

Hi @jonasdedual_SP ,

Sorry for the confusion - you will still only need the one license to Business Central, but if you have 10 Power BI users, you will need 10 Power BI licenses.

Hi @jonasdedual_SP ,

I think you are mixing and matching licenses.  Power BI has its own licensing that is separate from Business Central.  The rule of thumb is that if you have a user looking at reports, they have to have a license.  So, in your scenario, 10 users using reports, then you will need 10 licenses.  Power BI will get the data from Business Central and you will have to have at least one license that can sign into Business Central that Power BI can use.
