Lasso rectangle select in line graph with overlapping data points
- Anonymous2 years ago
Well, the conclusion from Microsoft on above issue :
"What we understand as 119 data points is actually 119 series (lines) with many more data points in total—around 115,000 rows. Our system can display up to 60 series, so selection is also limited to 60 series. In reality, there are about 3,500 data points in the chart based on the series that can be shown, which is close to the data point selection limits as mentioned in the documentation: Multi-select data elements, data points, and visuals - Power BI | Microsoft Learn ."Future scope: For such cases, either the limit of datapoints recognised by the tool needs to be expanded in future releases, or provide enable/disable option for lasso select.
Hi Anonymous
To help you better, could you please provide some data or screenshots? This way I can get a better understanding of your situation. Please remove any sensitive data in advance.
The following suggestion is for your reference.
If you don't necessarily use line plots, perhaps consider using scatter plots. Then switch “High Density Sampling” to “On”.
When two or more data points overlap, the high-density sampling algorithm for scatterplots employs a method that effectively captures and represents the underlying data and eliminates the overlapping points. The radius of the circle is increased to represent these overlapping data points.
