LakeHouse Models - Has this changed?
Hi,
I recently built a LakeHouse based semantic model that uses tables from two different LakeHouses. One is for my primary datasource and the other for master data tables like locations and a date dimension.
I was able to create the model leveraging tables from both and create a relationship between datetimes. The documentation states this isn't supported yet:
Am I missing something or is the documentation lagging?

Potpot Right, so walk us through what you did to accomplish that. Are you certain you are using Direct Lake storage mode?
Sure, I'm new to Fabric so please correct me if I'm misinterpeting anything here!
Here is the Date Dimension table I'm using which resides in a LakeHouse in another Workspace. Storage Mode is Direct Lake and the Format shows datetime. All of my tables in the model show the Direct Lake storage mode. You can see two relationships to this dimension table and both are working
I used a shortcut to make the table available in the primary Workspace:
I suppose this might be cheating but it does seem to work!
Potpot Everyone is new to Fabric. I would say that you found a creative work-a-round. Technically the documentation is correct as well as incorrect as the table is in the lakehouse (albeit via a shortcut). What you can't do is add a table to the semantic model that is not in the same, originally associated, lakehouse as there is no way to navigate to another lakelhouse when adding a table to the semantic model, only the tables (including shortcuts) within the associated lakehouse appear.
Thanks! I'm loving the platform but it does need some polish.
Any thoughts on the date time relationship? I'm using caution when building out some of my early solutions as I don't want to get caught relying on something that will later change or break!
