Lag in Excel 'Get Data from Power BI' when publishing report

Hello Community,

When I publish a dataset to the service it sometimes takes hours for that dataset to appear in Excel via the 'Get data' button. Does anyone have a trick to force Excel to re-check? When using the 'go to datahub' link I can see the file is there.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I'm a little confused. Generally speaking, after publishing the report to service, the dataset will appear in your workspace. And usually it will not appear in "get data" in the form of excel.

There is a 'Get data' button that allows you to connect to a PBI Dataset with a Pivot table:

Some datasets appear while others do not.

Do I need to publish it as an app users to be able to connect through excel?
