Issues with Power BI Report export to Powerpoint

Hi all,

I am having issue while exporting Power BI report to Power Point. The image is not fitting in the slide, and we are having this obstruction starting from this week. The page size in Power BI is 16:9. As seen below; we have to manually pull the image from right, left and from the bottom we have to crop and pull that again to fit it in the slide. We tried using background color in PPT, but for the bottom of slide we will still have white bar. Any idea or suggestion to overcome this. We have more than 70 slides.

Thanks

Hi @Anwar-2410 - Sometimes, the export process does not perfectly match the aspect ratio or resolution of your Power BI visuals, even if you've set them to 16:9. Ensure the visual's dimensions in Power BI align closely with PowerPoint’s slide resolution. You may need to test slight adjustments to your report’s aspect ratio or dimensions to see if this improves fit.

Even though the 16:9 ratio is set, there might be slight differences between Power BI's 16:9 dimensions and PowerPoint’s. Try setting a custom page size in Power BI, ideally matching PowerPoint’s default dimensions for 16:9 slides (e.g., 13.33 x 7.5 inches). This might improve alignment when exporting.

Some third-party Power BI add-ins and PowerPoint tools can facilitate batch exporting with better scaling options. Look into options like "Power BI Tiles" or "Power BI Export Pro," which might provide more control over export dimensions.

check the above approaches,  you may be able to achieve better alignment with your PowerPoint slides.

Thanks for the reply. I did change the size/dimension in PBI and checked, but nothing is working out. If we increase the size of the page, we get more of white space on all the side. If we try to reduce the size, then also it will not fit. The issue is we want the background to be black, if it's white then there will be no issue. Do we have any other solution to resolve this.
