Hi,
I am having an issue updating the credentials for my VSTS DevOps connection in Power BI Service. I have been using Personal Access Token method to authenticate this data source which has been working perfectly until today.
I've reset the Personal Access Tokens in DevOps, and tried to update the credentials in Power BI Service but getting the following error message:
I opened the dataset in Desktop, changed over to the new token and refreshed the dataset with no issues. I can confirm that information as of today is being pulled into the dataset, so the problem seems to only exist in Power BI Service.
Is anyone else having this problem, or know if this is a transient issue?
Thanks,
Max
Hi @ML222 ,
Let me give you an example.Because I am linking to an on-premise SharePoint site I had to install Microsoft Power BI Gateway and add the Sharepoint source there first. This allows the dataset on PowerBI Service to refresh using the credentials provided by the connected gateway.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Thank you for the reply.
However, you do not need a gateway to access Azure DevOps Analytical views - you can use PATs as I am doing.

Use personal access tokens - Azure DevOps | Microsoft Learn
The token is being accepted in Desktop but not in Service.
